What is CafeGrabber?
A. CafeGrabber is a unique tool
that helps CafePress ShopKeepers automatically create Google
Base / Froogle feeds of products in their store. By uploading
the feed to Google Base / Froogle, your products will be listed
in searches on google,com, base.google.com
and froogle.com.
Q.
Where can I find the API Key that I need to enter?
A. To find your API key, login to
your CafePress account, then open the following address:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/members/affiliate/xml_feed.aspx
Alternatively, login to your account, click the "Affiliate
Central" link, then the "XML Feed" link in the left.
Q.
Will this really increase my sales?
A. Well, this depends of your
designs. If you do have some sales, this should definitely
increase the number, as you will get traffic from Froogle also.
Traffic from Froogle consists of people that are LOOKING to buy
something, unlike traffic from the search engines, where people
might look only some information rather than buying.

Will this program work on my computer?
A. Almost DEFINITELY! CafeGrabber
works on any Windows computer, including Windows 98, Windows NT,
Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 2003 and Windows XP.

A. Absolutely NOT! While competing
products charge you for each feed created, CafeGrabber allows
you to create an unlimited number of feeds from your store.

Q. How long does it take to generate a feed?
A. This depends on how many items
you have in your store and what type of internet connection you
have. On a regular broadband connection, around 100 items are
added per minute. Since the 2.0 version, CafeGrabber is
100 times faster! You will be able
to generate the feed with ALL the items in your store in just a
few minutes!
Q. Does it work for very large stores?
A. At this time, you can't use CafeGrabber for very big stores
(over 50,000 items). This is not something that we can repair,
as this is happening because of the CP API. As soon as we will
find a way to avoid this or CP releases a fix we'll send a free
upgrade to the existing customers.
Q. Will it work for my store if I have a custom
storefront?
A. Unfortunately if you have a
custom store front you will have to turn on the regular
CafePress listings. The good news is that you can turn those off
again after finishing the crawling. The other good news is that
you can enter a category URL and create a feed from that
category. By combining the feeds you will have a complete file.
Starting with the 2.0 version, it doesn't matter if you have a
custom storefront! You will be able to create the feed normally!
